Creativity Challenge

It's never too early to start pondering writing ideas for NaNoWriMo. So yall have anything that you think I should write about? I may just do some short stories and post 'em on here. Give me some words or phrases if you can't think of a plot or scenario. I'm game for some writing exercises.

A friend does some 'first sentence' exercises. He comes up with 10 first sentences that would grab a reader's interest. I've wanted to steal some of his sentences and build on them ... I'll email you a link. Could be fun for short stories.
