Frog? What frog?
I snapped this picture while leaving a friend's house. It's a frog with camo! What most amused me is that this is probably the only Town of Cary approved frog - it's neutral in color!
For those of you who are unaware, Cary, North Carolina has a passionate love affair with the color beige. Most buildings are beige - even McDonald's. It's part of the town code. Makes me wonder if, perhaps, the town council hauled this variety of treefrog in so that it wouldn't mess up their decor.
See how well he blends with the beige siding? He'd blend even better if he rotated 45 degrees. Then his patterns would be more in tune with the lines on the siding.
After some searching, I've determined that this is a Cope's Gray Treefrog (Hyla chrysoscelis) aka Town of Cary approved amphibious critter.

Happy First Day of Spring!
I've been slacking off this week, I know. Work has been busy. Next week will be even busier. So if I miss days next week, don't worry. I'm (probably) not dead or possessed, just means I didn't turn my computer on when I got home from work. I don't foresee much time at my desk next week.
I thought I'd have a video of my nephew for you today, that didn't work out. Apparently YouTube doesn't recognize the video type. Ah well.
Hockey
Canes play tonight (vs Islanders) and tomorrow night (vs capitals). Both are home games. No I don't have tickets. I'm really hoping to go to the April 2nd game (vs rangers) as it's Cam Ward bobble head night. :)

Princess Luna Fiona the Pirate?
Captain Priss was protecting her booty - squishy food!
Princess Luna needed to clean up and nap a bit, before taking on Captain Priss once again.

Get On Your ...Skates
Am listening to the live webcast of U2 performing in Boston. I'm also watching the Canes game. They're playing the Blackhawks in Chicago. As much as I like John Forslund, I have the TV muted. It's an interesting combination. Watching live hockey and listening to live U2.
The most amazing part? My laptop is letting me post this while I listen to the webcast. That's a lot of heavy duty multitasking. Perhaps she's not as close to death as I thought. Although she is definitely arthritic.

Items MIA and Hockey. Nothing Thrilling Today (okay, tonight)
A coworker so very kindly brought in her digital camera battery charger for me to use today. I can't find mine. It's been MIA for several weeks now. I think it must be with my W2's. Scary, eh?
If I can't the tax forms by this weekend, I'm going to see about getting replacements. I just can't imagine where they've gotten to.
Hockey
Canes beat the Rangers last night. Woo! Not quite the blowout the last two games have been. But it's a win in regular time, which is what counts th emost. Plus it was a shut out! So an extra woohoo for that.
Did I tell yall that I got to see Corvo in person and not in hockey gear? It was a week or so ago. I refrained from yelling out to him. Mostly because I wasn't entirely certain it was him at the time. A later source confirmed it for me tho.

Are You KIDDING ME?!!
I woke up this morning to the air conditioner being on. It was set to 74 degrees. Nevermind that, at that temperature, SOMEONE is wrapped up in a blanket because she's cold. It was 60 degrees outside!!!!!!
Hello? Ever heard of windows? Ceiling fans? Open windows, turn on ceiling fan. It'd cool it right off inside. And at a fraction of the cost, not to mention environmental impact, as turning on the ac. Perhaps that was just too much work. I mean, lifting up a window or two & turning on a switch. Hell, she could've just opened the back door. That's less work than opening a window or two.
And she did this after I went to bed. Not because that's when she discovered she was "hot" but because she knew I'd give her grief about it. Hey, Roommie! Have you read your bumper stickers lately? Do you remember the ones you had on your old car? Ever heard of practice what you preach? Hmm?? Hypocrite.

Gulab Jamun
For lunch today, I went to an Indian buffet with two coworkers. I picked the place since it was a bleated birthday outing. They even paid for me. How sweet are they?
Anyway the food was fantastic. There's just one problem. I am so very full that I can't even drink more water for fear of exploding. Plus, I want a nap.
I grabbed a take-out menu so I could find out the names of things. Instead of calling something based on it's appearance. For example, 'fried dough balls swimming in syrup' which is actually called gulab jamun. It's rather mushy and way too sweet for me. Although it does look more appealing than Kheer (rice pudding).
No. I have no idea how to pronounce gulab jamun. I can say fried dough balls swimming in syrup though. :)

Snow Day!
This is my parking lot at work on Monday, March 3rd at about 0800.
Taken out in the field (you've seen pix of this pond before) on Monday, around 1500.
Yes, it was cold. But very, very pretty. It spat snow throughout the day too. There was about 2.5 inches at my home and over four inches at work.

From Friday of Last Week
The one bird looks rather like a pelican. I think it's just the angle he had his head though.
I had composed this late last night. I logged in this morning and it was still 'saved as a draft' instead of published. Ah well.I'm leaving the original day/time stamp on it tho.

U2 Way
Today in NYC, 53rd Street was renamed U2 Way. How spiffy is that?
And yes this post, while containing very cool info, is merely here so that I won't have tow days in a row without a post :)
