This that and the other thing. Though there might be more of this than that. And little of the other things. Maybe.

Which One Matches You Best?

A friend sent me a link to a site that shows which candidate, currently running for president, fits your views the best. It lists numerous topics and you have 20 points to allot. The more points you give something, the more important to you it is.

The next page lists specific issues and you rate it - from strongly oppose to neutral to strongly support with a few choices in between. After you're done with that, it calculates your results and gives you a percentage of how the candidates relate to you. Automatically shows you your top three with how strongly they think like you.

Scarily enough, Hilliary was 81% with me and Barack was 80%. I'm surprised a Green Party candidate didn't make my top three. I'll have to go and see if they're even part of the pool of candidates to match your views against. However, that's more politics than I usually pay attention too.

Hockey
After a fight in the opening seconds of the game against the Rangers on Tuesday, I can't help but wonder what tonight's game against the Leafs will bring. I still wish Avery had been the one clobbered, later in the game, instead of Gomez. Ah well, maybe next time.

U23D - Even Better Than The Real Thing?

I saw U2 3D (see widget above) this weekend. It was freaking FANTASTIC!!! Except, not long enough. I really need to see it again. And again. And again.

Definitely better than any of their current DVDs and, at times, as good as being at a real show.. But better over all than a concert? Dunno about that - except for the close ups of The Edge :)

Thanks for Your Help, Can I Have My Water Back Now?

An amusing article on chivalry. For the record, I agree with the answers.

Hockey
Way to go Eastern Conference!!! Wooohooo! And big congrats to Erik Staal! You can give me your new ride, Mr. MVP :)

Dancing With Myself

I heard that song on my way home from work yesterday. I had to restrain myself from dancing in my car. Happens a lot with the 80's music. It would just look odd to see someone all bundled up (knit cap, scarf, army coat, and sunglasses) bouncing around in their car at a stoplight. That seems more of a summer thing. Or Friday afternoon.

Ooooh that means I can do it today!! Then again the bouncing is less likely to be to music and more likely uncontrollable shivers due to the cold. See, yesterday it was in the 40's and I was bundled up. This morning it's in the low 20's. I may freeze before I get to my car.

All you folks up north - Shush! We don't do cold down here. At least, not very well.

Still Dry Despite Recent Rain & Snow

On Tuesday, City of Raleigh asked residents to limit their daily water consumption to 35 gallons per person. They hope to extend the dwindling supply of drinking water as much as possible.

There's also talk of a 50% water surcharge being passed onto residents. Frankly, I say do it! That should drive home the fact that water is a Limited resource and very precious.

Canes Are MIA...

Stupid freaking teams from New York!! Gah! I should've come home, taken a nap and then gone out to the midnight showing of U2 3D. Grrrrrrrrr.

If we could just eliminate period 2, it wouldn't be so bad. But three short handed goals?? Two on the Same penalty?!! That's just f*cked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess, on the bright side, I have a Ray Whitney non-action action figure (ie figurine). I think that's a bright side.. Maybe?

3D Vertigo = Uber Dizzy?

The U2 3D movie opens tomorrow. Or, if your Imax is spiffy like the one here, at midnight tonight. No, I don't have tix to the midnight showing. Yet. I do have tix to the hockey game tonight tho..

Riddle Me This 2 (3?)

You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left side is a 'drop off', (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse, which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is a galloping zebra. Both the horse and zebra are also traveling at the same speed as you. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

For the answer, check the comments.

I got about four hours sleep last night and the wintry mix they've been forecasting is more rain than wintry. Tho there is some sleet. Regardless, I get to go frolic about it in it and get paid. And likely wet and muddy. :)

Overwhemled By Leafs

What is going on with my Canes?? They've lost their last two games 5-4 and are no longer the SE Division leader. C'mon guys! Unless you start playing as a team you can kiss the playoffs goodbye. Highly doubtful you'll make it unless you're the SE leader. At least Samsonov seems to be settling in nicely.

Feed Me

Bath and Body Works is an evil, wonderful, evil place. Especially when they have sales. Like the one they're having now. Oy. But at least I'll smell good...

Unrelatedly.
I have a very fuzzy, very sweet, Very obnoxious, apparently starving cat purring on my lap right now. She only ever gets like this when she wants food Right Now.

Hockey
Canes play the Leafs in Toronto night. And it's not on TV so I can't watch it from the (soon to be) newly delivered couch. Bummer.

Another Hand On The Wall

I went ice skating this weekend. First time in probably twenty years. Man. That really makes me feel old. I was fine until I thought of my last ice skating excursion in terms of decades. Oy.

Anyway, I didn't break anything and I didn't feel like an old woman (despite the 20 years since last attempting) the next morning. In fact, I do believe I'll be skating again. Sometime. Hopefully before another twenty years go by.

Perhaps, next time, I'll leave the wall by more than three feet and for longer than five feet. Maybe. Possibly.

And That Will Bring Us Back To Do...

I saw thirteen deer at work yesterday. This was during the time when I wasn't working in the rain. Apparently deer are too smart to be out in the cold rain. Obviously they're smarter than I because, should it rain again today, I'll be back out working in it. That's okay though. I'm positive I have better taste in music than your average deer. :)

Hockey
13 year 124 million dollars for Ovechkin??? Holy feck! That's mind boggling.

Apparently I should've watched the third period of the Canes game. I go to bed and the Devils score two more on us. *sigh*

An Egg for Boston

Cam had his third shut out of the season last night against the Bruins (1-0). Yeah Cam!!! And hallelujah for the two points in the standings. Didn't see the game as I was at work. Insert jaw cracking yawn here. Anywho, I'm interested in seeing how Samsonov (Canes acquired him from Blackhawks) does with the team.

Okay, that's it as I still need to do those pesky things like get dressed, eat breakfast, shower, etc. If yall have time today, have some caffeine for me.

Rock 'n Roll Hoochie Coo

Woke up with that song in my head. Obviously I didn't get enough sleep last night.

Sneecouphlegmghze
He is, once again, sending out his armies trying to take me down. The dirty meanie. My roomie has The Plague (that would be a cold to everyone else) and a guy I spent most of yesterday with lost the majority of one of his lungs from coughing. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't fall to the germie attacks.

I find it amusing that insurance for when you die is called Life. As, the last time I checked, to be dead means there is no spark of life left in you. I guess ins. companies figure they can sell more of it if it's called Life Insurance instead of Death Insurance. It does have a nicer ring to it.

And If You Dance, Then Dance With Me

The cat is currently making a racket in the hopes I'll feed her. Sadly she does not realize my thinking on her activities. If she eats her way through a shoe box & plastic bag, then she is obviously no longer hungry and in need of food. Silly girl.

College Football
Yeah Jayhawks! So much for all the people yakking about how you weren't good enough to be in the Orange Bowl - Mwahahahahahahaha!

Hockey
Whoa. Lots of new faces in the Canes line up these days. Grahame clearing waivers, playing in Albany. Leighton getting two starts. Borer getting his first NHL goal. Friend calling me at work to give updates on Friday's game. Good times.

Runnin' Scared In The Valley Below

Hell is ruled by a woman. She has an iron curtain rod in one hand, a damp cloth in the other and a bucket of cleaning solution at her feet. Well, one version of hell anyway.

Somewhat Unrelatedly
We had brief snow showers this morning (no accumulation). It was rather windy and very cold. One of Dante's levels of hell was an icy one. Can't say as I'm surprised, considering.

Hockey
Better game than on NYE, tho we still lost. At least we got a point. I continue to be in awe of Andrew Ladd. Broken cheek bone, half his face yellow, black eye, a grill of a face mask and he's out there skating like a fiend. Scored tonight too. Hope the surgery (Jan. 3rd) goes well and you're back on the ice soon, boyo!!

Up With The Static And The Radio

Some people are odd. Some are odder than most. For example, someone can go from emailing & texting a Lot to nothing at all to irregular contact back to nothing then to frequent and then to sporadic. With nary an explanation. Whatever. At least they know I'm here and will reply.

Arms Entwined, The Chosen Few

I hope everyone, unless you're a ref (or a fan of any NHL team in NY), has a Happy, Healthy, and Productive 2008!

Hockey
Since ref #34 & ref #28 are obviously blind & immoral (having been paid to call the game in favor of the islanders) I feel it's fair to call for their heads to be mounted on pikes. That way everyone can throw things at them. Or - better yet - put them in stockades with their eyes (which are apparently riddled with cataracts) pinned open & a whistle taped in their mouths. They'd have to watch the game over & for every call they missed during the game, they would have to blow the whistle 1,000 times. Just to make sure they knew how to work them. Apparently they are tricky devices.

To all the other refs, Get OVER your hatred of the SE division teams already! Whiny, idiots. Grow up!
